Survive a saferoom with Mime.
-HANDSOFF

Mime is an entity that appears when its modifier, "ITJUSTMAKESYOUHAPPY!" is activated, or its bound trait is enabled.

Appearance

Mime appears to be a crudely drawn white happy face, with a big smile and two beady eyes. It has two hands with 4 fingers, and it twiddles its fingers around. There is noticeable line boil while it is active. Its hands are positioned to the side of its face.

When using its active Bound Trait, Mime appears green.

Behavior

Mime will spawn similarly to Rue in the same way it has its distance meter, although with a difference to differentiate between the two. It will immediately zoom towards the player and reach them in a short amount of time regardless of distance and will stand idly by behind them.

Mime will follow the player wherever they go, standing close behind them. If the player moves toward it, it will move backwards with a delay, but this does not guarantee that Mime is a total pushover. The only way to get rid of Mime is by entering the next saferoom, as it does not naturally despawn.

While it is close to a player, they are able to hear it audibly making speech. Some of the voicelines said by Mime include the following:

Line Audio
"I'm nearby!"
"We can be great friends, you and I."
"I'm right here~!"
"Turn that frown, upside-down!"
"I know you want it."
"It's just that easy."
"Doesn't need to be real."
"It can't get easier than that." TBA
"Feeling down?"
"I'm waiting."
"Out of thin air!"
"There's always an easier way."
"Don't be shy."
"One more?"
"I'm sure you won't regret it."
"I can make it feel better."
"A grab and pull can act like fuel!"
"Never what? But why?"
"Anywhere, anytime!"
"Hands do the trick."
"Just a short few for a good few!"

There are more voicelines, Although the glitching causes a few lines to therefore be difficult to understand. Anyone who can manage to decipher a voiceline should add it to this list.

Players are able to flash Mime with the lantern or flashlight, which will launch it extremely far away, though it will rush right back towards them after a few seconds. It is best for them to ignore Mime unless the players are in a situation where they are cornered by the layout of the room, or an entity that attacks quickly from the front arrives such as Elkman or even Drain, requiring the player to quickly flash Mime and then get away.

Dying to Mime will have the victim's legs be torn off and have them bleed out.

Trivia

  • Mime slightly resembles A-200 from Rooms, which is one of the many games that inspired Grace.
    • However, it can also slightly resemble A-120 from DOORS. So don't confuse A-200, A-120, or Mime itself.
  • Mime could be inspired from Stanley from Mandela Catalogue.
  • Despite being named Mime, it is able to speak and does so frequently, whereas regular mimes are silent actors.
    • Mime is voice acted by Simon, the creator of the game.
  • Mime seemingly has a connection to Doppel, as the player's eyes will turn into the said entity's eyes during the jumpscare.
    • This is because Doppel, in a way, represents "sins towards yourself" hence self-pleasure having a connection to it. Another reason is because Self-Pleasure causes regret to those who knows it's sin, turning the player to a Doppel. In other words, post-nut clarity.
  • Mime's document is incredibly similar to Ire's, in part because of their relation to fulfilling urges.
    • Mime uses the same sound effect from the end of Ire's jumpscare when killing a player.
    • Mime is also similar to Ire in the way it turns the player's eyes into Doppel's during its jumpscare, whereas Ire turns the player's eyes into Rue's.
  • Mime can be parried in Reprieve if summoned with commands, though doing so will cause it and its indicator to stay stationary indefinitely.
  • Mime's jumpscare reads "Felt 'good', huh? What really is 'good'?"
  • Mime synergizes with Elkman, because Elkman forces you to go back whereas Mime lurks behind, trapping you where every move seems like a mistake. This is symbolic, because while Elkman symbolizes Lustful thoughts, it'll lead you to Mime which represents Self-Pleasure.
    • To counter this, keep going. Don't go back, instead get through the door behind Elkman and hide there before it melts you.
      • However, if the Stingman modifier is enabled or it is in a breaker room, quickly turn back and flash Mime to get some space to work with, and then hide. You can also use the 10-Point Crampons trait to wall jump over the door.
