The most bitter shame is giving up from shame—Shame's Document
Shame is the entity that appears within the Reprieve mode when the timer runs out.
Appearance[]
Shame appears similarly to Goatman, with it being an image of a completely red ram skull with large horns and any outlines are transparent. It has a scribbly, melting effect, its horns curve inwards, then redirect and curve outwards into a small loop, and there are 2 small noticeable eyes within the skulls eye sockets. Shame seems to be convulsing when active.
Behavior[]
Shame will arrive when the timer reaches zero. Shame will appear on top of the player and start moving after a few seconds and convert the timer into a distance meter.
While Shame is active, the timer becomes red and is changed to show its distance from the player. A red beam also appears between it and the player, meant to show the direction Shame is coming from, and can be seen even if it is behind the player. Shame will rush towards the player, creating a trail of red and black smoke in its path and playing both a deep laughing sound and a distorted siren sound. Unlike Goatman and similarily to EPIK DUCK, Shame doesn't follow the player linearly, but instead accelerates towards them.
Shame can be parried and when doing so, Shame will be launched far away from the player, and the player will be launched upwards. This can be used to gain momentum for a slide bounce or a dart, and if timed right, the player can repeatedly stay in the air by constantly parrying Shame, reaching further heights, and gaining more momentum.
Trivia[]
- There is actually a faint grey square around Shame's sprites.
- Shame's laugh when spawning in seems to be a pitched down version of Pizzaface's laugh from Pizza Tower.
- If the "LESS TIME." modifier is selected 28 different times in the same run, Shame spawns instantly, though this also causes it to appear very far away from the actual map.
- If Shame is parried while moving supposedly above mach 1, a punching sound effect will play layered over its normal parry sound effect.
- You can surf Shame's parry launch by sliding right after it, giving you insane speed.
- By enabling third person mode with the '.baseplate' command, you can see that Shame moves to your camera rather than your character, this applies parrying.
- If you press the key Home in you keyboard, the timer will be set on 0 and Shame will spawn instantly on top of you
